Jessica is currently a Materials Selection Librarian at the St. Paul Public Library. She’s also a member of Ebooks Minnesota’s collection development task force and she’s involved with the Digital Public Library of America’s Content Curation Corps for their Open Ebooks Initiative.  Her presentation was very interesting as well as enlightening.

Gary from Magers and Quinn Booksellers (3038 Hennepin Avenue South, Minneapolis 55408)  presented a lot of useful information on new and popular books.  Many of us were not aware of this bookstore. Gary Mazzone is their outreach and sales director-a great source of informatthumbnail_img_2311ion for our group. Magers and Quinn Booksellers is the largest independent, family-owned bookstore in Minnesota.  As Gary reminded us small businesses are the mainstay of America and we are encouraged to support them.

A big thank you to all the publishers who donated books that Magers and Quinn could distribute at our meeting.  Everyone got 3 to 4 brand news books for their libraries.
